About us

A local roofing company, not a storm-season visitor

Gainesville Roofing FL is a locally operated roofing referral service working with licensed and insured roofing partners across Gainesville, Alachua County and North Central Florida. We replace and repair roofs for homeowners, landlords and small commercial property owners — and we answer the phone after the job is done.

Why we exist

Roofing has a trust problem. We work like it does.

Most people hire a roofer two or three times in their life. That asymmetry — the homeowner does this rarely, the contractor does it every day — is why the trade has such a poor reputation. It is easy to sell work that will not be inspected, with materials nobody checks, to someone who cannot tell the difference until it rains.

We built this company around the opposite approach. Measure before quoting. Photograph before, during and after. Put the scope in writing. Pull the permit. Meet the inspector. Explain what failed and why, in language that does not require a roofing license to understand.

If a repair will get you five more years, we will say so. If the roof is finished, we will show you the evidence rather than ask you to take our word for it.

  • Locally based. We work in the county we live in, year-round — not just after a named storm.
  • Documented work. Photos of decking, flashing, underlayment and the completed roof.
  • Code-compliant. Permits through the correct jurisdiction, current Florida Product Approval, final inspection met.
  • Repair-first. Replacement is a conclusion, not a default.
  • Reachable after completion. The number you called before the job still works after it.

How we work

Five standards we do not bend

These are the things that separate a roof that lasts from one that looks fine for three years.

Measure, do not estimate from the street

Roof size, pitch, layer count, valleys, penetrations and decking condition are checked before a number is given. Guessing produces change orders.

New flashing, every time

Reusing old flashing is one of the most common causes of leaks in new roofs. Valleys, walls, chimneys, skylights and boots get new metal and membrane details.

Ventilation sized to the attic

Intake at the soffit, exhaust at the ridge, balanced and clear. A hot attic shortens shingle life from underneath, no matter what is on top.

Permit and inspection, always

Every re-roof is permitted and inspected. It protects your insurance, your resale and the warranty. No exceptions for “small” jobs that are not small.

Protect the property

Landscaping covered, driveways protected, debris removed daily, magnetic sweep at completion. The roof is the job; the property is not a dumpster.

Answer after the job

If something is not right, call the same number. We come back. That is the whole warranty in one sentence.

Local knowledge

Why Gainesville roofs are their own category

This is not a generic Florida roofing market. Gainesville sits inland, under a live oak canopy, with a humid subtropical climate, near-daily summer storms and a long hurricane season. Roofs here deal with debris, shade, algae, heat and wind-driven rain in the same year.

That shapes what we recommend: algae-resistant shingles, ice-and-water membrane where rain is driven sideways, high-temperature synthetic underlayment, ridge and soffit ventilation sized to the attic, and flashing details that do not depend on caulk. It also shapes what we inspect — the valleys and roof edges that collect oak litter, the north slopes that stain, the fascia that rots when gutters overflow.

We work in neighborhoods across the city — Haile Plantation, Suburban Heights, Millhopper, the Duckpond, Westmoreland, Tioga, Longleaf and Brytan — and in the smaller towns around the county. The housing stock ranges from 1950s block homes to new construction, and the right roof is different for each.
